Budget 2025 - Goodbye to the 2 child limit!

Today marks an important moment in the fight against child poverty. Following years of campaigning by Christians on the Left and many others across politics and civil society the Government has announced that it will scrap the two-child limit.

This policy caused profound and lasting harm, pushing hundreds of thousands of children into hardship and undermining the dignity of families who needed support. Its removal is a victory for compassion, justice, and evidence-led policymaking.

Below is our full statement responding to the Autumn Budget and today’s announcement. We’re proud of the role our members and supporters have played in calling for change but we are equally clear that there is much more to do to end child poverty for good.
