Polling Day

General Election Day

‘Why do you say, … “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded

by my God?” Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the

everlasting God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He will not grow

tired or weary, and his understanding no-one can fathom. He gives strength to

the weary and increases the power of the weak.’ Isaiah 40:27,28

God has not forgotten us: we are always in his thoughts. He sees us and knows our cause. Nevertheless, tiredness is going to feel like a big factor for many of us today. We need to rely on our God, who though tireless himself, knows our needs and is able to meet them. Let’s not forget that provision may be through each other, though.

IN PRAYER. Continue to pray for people’s voting decisions. Pray that core voters, people changing from another party and young people will make the effort to cast their ballots. Ask for a general high turnout.

Uphold weary candidates and activists trying to get out the vote; timetables will have already been organised but pray that all goes smoothly. Pray for those on duty at polling stations or counting overnight. Peace for candidates and supporters waiting to hear results. Broadcasting pundits and journalists to interpret the results wisely and with as little bias as possible.
