Support the Effort Against Tax Avoidance!

At Christians on the Left, we believe that paying tax is not a burden but a social responsibility. It is not acceptable that some large corporations and wealthy individuals are able to avoid paying their fair share. We therefore call on the government to fund HMRC properly and create a specific business unit to tackle corporate tax evasion. Please add your name to our campaign against tax avoidance and evasion.

At 18yrs old I wrote to Margaret Thatcher to demand that she ask me to pay more tax and to use the mo eye to sort out the homelessness I was seeing instead of leaving the problem to individuals.

I still feel the same 35 years later. I’m proud to pay tax and enjoy public services.

Many countries would love to be so organised.

Many asylum seekers tell me “please let me work and pay tax. I don’t want to receive benefits. I want to contribute to this society.”

Paying tax is one of the ways in which contribute to a fair, caring and civilised society. It should be based on ability to pay, and should not be optional.

Paying Tax in full is not only a legal requirement on all citizens but a moral obligation for the good of us all.
