Labour_DignityFollowing on from several recent news stories surrounding the issue of abortion, Christians on the Left published a collection of articles on the subject.

We will now be holding a panel discussion around support for women in crisis pregnancy, hosted with the Labour Dignity group. Our aim is to promote an adult conversation on an emotive topic. The panel will be chaired by CotL executive member Heather Staff, and will include Rachael Maskell MP, Mary Glindon MP and former parliamentary candidate Sara Hyde.

Following a recent high-profile event, CotL will be partnering with the Robin Hood Tax campaign to host a panel discussion on taxation of the financial sector and its implications for UK fiscal policy.

The event will be chaired by Gail Cartman, Assistant General Secretary of Unite. Contributors will include John McDonnell MP, Shadow Chancellor; David Hillman, Director Robin Hood Tax campaign; Ros Wynne-Jones, Daily Mirror and Faiza Shaheen, the Director of CLASS.

ERSAs part of our ongoing campaign to lower the voting age to 16, we will be hosting a rally at St Paul's Church, West Street, on the evening of Monday 25 September.

The event will be supported by the Electoral Reform Society, and will feature young people from Brighton as well as a number of high-profile MPs, including Jeremy Corbyn, Ed Miliband, Chuka Umunna, Cat Smith (shadow minister for youth and voter engagement) and Marsha de Cordova. Darren Hughes from the Electoral Reform Society will also be joining us.
