Christians on the Left Officers Commend All Members Ballot for Labour Leadership

The Officers of Christians on the Left met in January and decided to nominate candidates for the positions of Leader and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. The Officers voted unanimously to ballot our entire membership to determine the nominees.

Christians on the Left was the first affiliated organisation to announce that it would ballot all members before nominating; not all affiliates are making nominations. Affiliated organisations include the 20 Socialist Societies (of which CotL is one) and the 12 Trade Unions. Other organisations such as Momentum have "endorsed" candidates but this is not part of the official selection process as these organisations have not affiliated with the Party.

Following the decision, Christians on the Left have engaged Civica Election Services (formerly Electoral Reform Services) to conduct the official ballot of CotL members from 24/01/20 - 07/02/20 with the results to be announced week commencing 10th February 2020. All members should have received an email with a link to the secure voting site from - if you have not, please email the office immediately on with subject BALLOT.
